Puffins are my absolute favorite birds. After diving into the various myths and connections they have in different cultures, I felt inspired to create a detailed and unique puffin. It’s been a while since I drew one and I was eager to take on the challenge. The beauty of this image lies in its open interpretation. Is the puffin a spirit or a symbol of changing weather? That’s up to the viewer. That’s why I named my painting “The Weather Spirit.” Both these aspects resonate with puffins across many cultures, adding layers of meaning to my artwork. I’ve always enjoyed sketching birds, and for this project, I aimed to draw a bird that’s not just visually captivating but also carries an intriguing inspiration and backstory. It’s been a rewarding and enjoyable artistic journey.
