Christopher Michel, Words, digital vector art printed on paper and cardboard, $225

As someone who is most comfortable working with digital images exclusively on the computer, I wanted to combine both digital and physical media into one art piece. Physically the piece is digital images printed onto the physical 14x14 board with a 3D effect coming from layering staggered cardboard images onto the board.

I took a series of negative statements about myself, mainly criticisms and character attacks and wrote them down with white text.

Then, I twisted and pulled the words into a disfigured form to represent that they do not have any significance to me. The raised parts of the piece exist not to raise anything up, but to sink the white swirl down deeper.

The splotches of light are made with the lens flare in adobe illustrator and have been edited with the same swirling.
