My name is Desteny and I’m a senior at Seaside High School. My love for roses is the main role for this painting. I really enjoy roses, I love the smell, the colors and beauty they have within them. Still life is an artistic movement that inspires me which is painting simple things like flowers, fruit, nature, etc. I enjoy any of these types of paintings because it gives me a type of relaxation and it just takes my stress away. Watercolor is a subject that’s been more interesting to me. I've never used this type of paint before and this was actually my first time trying to paint with them.

The name of my painting is Rosas which is the Spanish word for roses. I chose Rosas because it reminds me of my favorite song which is called Rosas played by La Oreja de Van Gogh. A fun fact about me is that my personal favorite painting is Starry Night by Vicent Van Gogh!!!
